New experiences at the Château du Clos de Vougeot

THREE SENSORIAL EXPERIENCES

The Château du Clos de Vougeot, the historic emblem of Burgundy’s winegrowing and gastronomic heritage, launches three new visitor offers: the Coeur de Climat, the Premier Climats and the Grands Climats Sensorial Experiences. Conceived with the aim of providing visitors with an all-round experience, the offers combine the Château’s different activities and attractions. In addition to a guided tour, visitors will be able to experience the cooking of the head-chef Olivier Walch as well as a selection of tasteviné Burgundy wines. All three oenogastronomic experiences in addition to a guided tour feature food prepared by the Château’s head-chef Olivier Walch and a degustation of wines from Burgundy selected by the TASTEVINAGE. In this way, the offers take visitors on a voyage of discovery of the Château and its activities. Open to all, these experiences – unique in Burgundy – give visitors an inside view of the activities and savoir-faire for which the Château is famous: as a leading venue for receptions, a Mecca of gastronomy and the home of the TASTEVINAGE.

COEUR DE CLIMATS

Accompanied by a guide, visitors are shown around the Château’s Vat House, the Great Cistercian Cellier, the former Monks’ Dormitory and the Renaissance Kitchens, before watching the film Jamais en Vain, Toujours en Vin. The experience concludes with a wine tasting of three tasteviné Burgundy wines, accompanied by an assortment of gougères prepared by head-chef Olivier Walch. The experience lasts an hour and a half. PREMIERS CLIMATS

The experience begins with an introduction to the landscape surrounding the Château which focuses on the concepts of terroir and climat. It continues with a guided tour of the Cistercian and Renaissance parts of the Château followed by a screening of the film Jamais en Vain, Tojours en Vin. The experience concludes with a wine-tasting: three tasteviné Premier Cru burgundies, each described in detail and accompanied by an appropriate amuse-bouche prepared by chef Olivier Walch. The experience lasts two hours. Price: 65€ per person. GRANDS CLIMATS

After a guided tour of the Château, the Grands Climats Experience continues in the format of a Chapitre in the former monks’ refectory (usually closed to the public). Presented by a wine-expert, five tasteviné Premier and Grand Cru Burgundy wines are served in turn, each accompanied by a mini seasonal assiette gourmande prepared by head-chef Olivier Walch. A magical marriage of French cuisine and Burgundy wine in an incomparable historical setting! The experience lasts three hours. Price: 135€ per person.
