exposition Exposition "Les Années Vin - Années folles du monde viticole"
Although the wine industry was hit by recurrent economic crises from 1920 to 1930, the decade nevertheless represents a unique moment in the history of French wine, and the wines of Burgundy in particular. Against the background of growing interest in regional folklore and gastronomy, wine promotion and the introduction of appellations of origin, wine merchants and growers began to re-shape the very concept of wine. These innovations led to the creation in Burgundy of a pioneering and imaginative model of wine-tourism, based on the idea of terroir.
Conceived by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and produced in partnership with the Chaire Internationale Cultures et Traditions Vitivinicoles, the exhibition installed in the monks' dormitory of the Château du Clos de Vougeot provides an insight into this rich period of Burgundy's booming wine industry.
